Forum Terms & Rules

Bryan/College Station Moms Mission Statement:
Our goal is to provide friendship and support for mothers of Bryan/College Station and the surrounding communities.

About us:
B/CS Moms was founded in February 2003 as an online support group for all mothers, whether you are expecting your first child, stay-at-home, work outside the home, or attend school. Best of all, while this board is not free for us, we do not charge any fees or membership dues! We're a diverse group of moms with members from all walks of life and do not discriminate on the basis of race or ethnicity, political or religious affiliation, national origin, or sexual orientation, nor are we affiliated with any religious or political organization.

***If you are not yet a resident of BCS or one of the surrounding communities, but are relocating to the area soon, please feel free to join!***

Activities and events include:
Playgroups, Pot-lucks, Mom's Night Out, Couple's Night Out, Walking Group, Book Club, Family Picnic, Scrapbooking/Hobby Club, Babysitting Co-op, and Recipe Club.

Forum Guidelines
Please read through these and understand that these guidelines will be enforced.

1. This is a **Moms-Only** private support group.
Only You Are Authorized to Use Your Account & Password.
With this user account you agree to never give your password out to another person except an administrator. We strongly encourage members to sign out when exiting the board to prevent other household members or those who may have access to your computer from visiting the board.

2. IMPORTANT: To Avoid Deletion of Your Membership:
Please post a profile within 5 days of being accepted and post at least once on the board every 15 days...
The administration periodically deletes members that have not been active in 15 days or new members that have not posted a profile within 5 days of being accepted. We ask that you do not lurk...many of our members have personal information on the board. We would love for everyone to participate and post. If you are deleted, you are welcome to reapply for membership, but please understand that you will lose your previous post number, status, and possibly access to certain private forums on the board only accessible to members with higher post counts, etc. Thus, you will start out as a new member. If you will be away on vacation or experience a family emergency, please do hesitate to contact us to let us know that you will be away temporarily.

3. Please Do Not Use Anonymizers/AOL...
Please register with an IP number from a reputable internet provider. Please do not log on with an anonymizer or through AOL. If you have AOL, please log on through Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, etc. If you do log on with a proxy server (like AOL) or an anonymizer, you will be asked to log out and log in appropriately.

4. Privacy Policy
All contact information (including your name, address, and phone numbers) submitted to BCS Moms is private and will not be shared with third parties without the consent or knowledge of the individual, except under court order. We do not sell or share information for marketing purposes.

5. No Religious or Political Affiliation...
Above all else, BCS Moms is a support group for moms intended to facilitate friendship between moms and their children as well as provide a forum for scheduling a wide variety of events, playdates, and get-togethers and exchanging information regarding parenting, family, relationship, etc. issues. While intellectual discourse is encouraged and political discussions occur in the forums, we do not promote or endorse any one religious or political agenda, belief system, or worldview. In addition, we are cautious about discussions on volatile topics such as abortion, religion, and race.

6. We are a Diverse Group and Believe in Extending Courtesy, Tolerance, and Respect to All Members...
You agree to respect other members' feelings, beliefs, and opinions. Please do not name-call, engage in personal attacks, or degrade your fellow moms, including the staff. Any racist or other derogatory remarks directed towards a minority or specific group of people are subject to deletion and the member's account subject to cancellation. Racism, prejudice, or derogatory comments directed towards any ethnic groups, the disabled or made on the basis of a person’s sexual orientation, or any other forms of prejudice directed towards others will not be tolerated.

7. Resolving Disagreements with Other Members
If you have an issue with something a member has said or done, please contact the member privately through pm, email, or phone. If you are unable to resolve the problem, please contact a moderator or manager to resolve the issue privately.

8. Disputing Staff Decisions
Moderators as well as the manager move, pin, delete, merge, and close or delete topics where necessary. Please understand that topics can sometimes can get out of hand. When this occurs, the topic may be closed at moderator/manager discretion. If a topic is closed or deleted, it becomes a private matter. If you take issue with staff decisions, you agree to contact her privately about it. You agree, under no circumstances, to post a new thread debating the reason for topic closure or send a mass pm/email with the same/similar subject.

*The reason we ask you to take disputes to pms or off the board is so that you do not open up your issue to groupwide scrutiny, which is divisive for everyone. This is why we may close, delete, or set invisible threads that become or may have the potential to become volatile in nature. We do not want to see our support group torn apart because of public spats and people taking sides.

9. Advertisements for Competing Groups...
Advertisements for competing local groups are never allowed on any part of the board. If you are unsure about your advertisement being allowed on the board, please contact the manager for clearance prior to posting it. Please understand that your advertisement or link can be deleted if deemed inappropriate.

10. The Personal Messenger (PM) & Emails Sent through the Board
Invision Power, the program used for this forum, stores logs of all personal messages (pms) and emails sent through the board and the contents are recorded and available to the administrators to prevent malicious use such as spam/harassment/abuse of members.

11. To cancel your membership, please send an email to the manager at bcsmoms@verizon dot net.

12. Advertising Your Business
Please do not join BCS Moms for the sole purpose of advertising your business. This means not registering with your business name as your screen name. If after joining you would like to advertise your business, we do have a sponsor subscription available.


**DISCLAIMER**
BCS Moms, its moderators, administrators and owner reserve the right to change these rules at any time. If any member conducts herself poorly, she can be banned or have her membership revoked even if what she is doing does not "technically" break the rules, but does cross the line of tolerance with the staff or with the community.

Our group is what you make of it, so let's make it a GREAT one!
